Practical differences worth knowing

Skiers usually move more easily across flat areas and through lift zones without removing equipment. Snowboarders deal with fewer pieces of gear and enjoy softer, more comfortable boots when walking around the resort. Falls happen in both sports. Snowboarding tends to involve wrists or the lower back early on, while skiing puts more focus on leg control and alignment. These are normal parts of learning, not reasons to avoid either option.
